There is no benefit to the United States, or to the citizenry, to allow the continued misunderstanding about the 14 amendment. If the children of foreign diplomats and some Indians within the United States do not receive citizenship, what logic would carry over to include illegal aliens? Just because we have wrongly allowed it does not mean that it should continue. It is out of control, and resulting in the closure of hospitals.

I have mixed feelings about this. There is not enough information/projections as to the outcome. My instincts say do not tinker with the Constitution. I understand that unchecked illegal immigration will suck the U.S. social programs dry, but my gut feeling is why change the Constitution, instead enforce the the border? No, O is not the man who will. But I did not vote for him, nor do I have an answer. Just my thoughts.....

40% of illegals don't come across the border, they overstay a visa.

How will you ever deport all the illegals currently here with "US citizen" children without adressing the issue?

Thanks Bowman, I had not thought of the over-stay visa aspect. Sadly, this will not change with the Dems and RINO's in control.
