U.S. Border Patrol said nine undocumented migrants were taken into custody Monday after a boat landing near John D. MacArthur Beach State Park.

According to Todd Bryant with Border Patrol, at about the 9 a.m. officials were notified by the Jupiter Police Department of a possible smuggling operation occurring in the area.

Initial reports indicated six to 10 migrants had landed near Juno Beach Park with some being detained by the Jupiter Police Department.

The nine migrants were later located and taken into custody.

A vessel was located near John D. MacArthur Beach State Park.

Border Patrol agents and the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office are still searching for other migrants and/or the smuggler.
