Of course they can see the sticker.

Once a local police officer followed me all the way home - not far, but followed me into the drive way. My husband came out of his office door and said, 'Wayne, write her a ticket - she has never had one and never let's me forget it."

He said, 'No ---, I may write you one, her inspection sticker is expired and that's your job.'

Didn't get a ticket - but sure they can see.

One stopped my husband in Austin for expired ticket. Seriously, being an old fogey, it was expired a couple of months

Among specific cases raised by Mexican officials are cases in which Latino immigrant drivers are unable to provide valid proof that they're in the U.S. legally during traffic stops.
No!!!!1.... you don't say! The nerve of those officers for wanting information during traffic stops...what is the world coming tooo

Gee.....I thought having occational traffic stops was for the purpose of checking on insurance and whether that sticker they can't see is up to date......or if those bobbing heads in the back seat are buckled up.....or why they see a car with out-of-state plates has been around for a long time and it hasn't been changed ACCORDING TO LAW. What the heck is the point of all these laws if their hands are tied in trying to enforce them. Why is it OK in one instance to check people but not in others? I know when I was in college the car I was in, was pulled over because the officer thought our driver "looked funny". We all laughed and agreed he was pretty doofy looking but the officer didn't appreciate our humor. We all had to get out and be frisked and the car gone over.....he found nothing.....thanked us for our cooperation and let us go. It was a college town........we were in an area where there were "problems" with college students. Even though we didn't do anything wrong.....he wasn't out of line for "targeting" college students. I mean in a way it was a tad intese for no wrong doing.....but we weren't thrown to the ground or anything too drastic because we cooperated.

I wouldn't want to be cop for all the tea in China. Some are egotistical jerks and many more aren't. It's like charging a nurse for abuse for hurting you when she had to give you a shot.

Sounds like Mexico wanting special treatment again - thats against the law here though isn't it?

Lets see asked to see your documentation when visiting someone in jail. Citizens are subjected to this treatment too, at least around here, I believe it is the norm - ID before you see a prisoner.

The stickers are usually made to be highly visible, so yes, I imagine the officers COULD see the sticker.
