INDIANAPOLIS — A South Bend priest told state representatives Wednesday that if a tough new illegal immigration bill becomes law, the city could see major economic loss.

Senate Bill 335, sponsored by Sen. Mike Delph, R-Carmel, would let local and state police enforce federal immigration and customs laws and prohibit state agencies from doing business with contractors who hire illegal immigrants.

Since when is a priest an economic expert? Save some illegal souls, padre. Have them confess their sins then tell them to say three Hail Marys and go back to their native land.

Could see major loses in his collection plate-people like him make people distrust religion and they should-jesus chased the money changers out of the church who were like this man and people like this who are in the church to make a profit should be ashamed.

Up in this part of the US there was plenty of work in my industry for about two years. Now things have gone kaput again. I have been out of work for six weeks now----and the predictions are not looking that good. Hey, politicians! Americans need the jobs more than ever!
