This is a great idea and maybe some of the inmates can get jobs with the farmers after they are released.

I hope some of the stubborn farmers will calm down and take a look at this program. It would really solve a lot of problems.

THIS WILL DEFINITELY WORK OUT. AS LONG AS THEY DONT USE SERIOUSLY VIOLENT INMATES.

BUT THERE ARE PLENTY OF LOWER RISK INMATES TO PUT IN THE PROGRAM. I AM SURE WORKING AND MAKING SOME MONEY IS BETTER THAN SITTING IN SOME DARK CELL.

AND IF A PERSON IS IN PRISON FOR A COUPLE YEARS....THEY COULD HAVE SOME STARTER MONEY SAVED WHEN THEY GET OUT, MAKING THEIR CHANCES OF SUCCESS GREATER.

I think they are on to something here, I really wish them the best of luck, it could solve alot of problems in every state and should shut up Larry Craig, who I am sure will find something wrong with it!

SaveOurCountry,I was afraid this post had something to do with late night cable movies but, seriously I think using inmates for work like this is a good idea,it makes them feel productive ,gives them a skill to use once out and some cash for release as well.Plus it keeps there minds and hands occupied which is good.

Yes this is a duplicate. I think the third one. But what can we do in each state to see that this pilot Colorado program is used alsewhere? How about letters to dept. of Corrections? Forward this news article on to them. I still think four dollars a day is too little for them. If they are good workers twenty would be more like it.

Most people consider themselves struggling at less than twenty dollars per hour, yet with conviction records these women would be lucky if they got minimum wage jobs when released. Return to prison is a highly lkely scenario unless they can be truly integrated into society. I know it costs the states to operate these programs and to inacarcerate people. There at least needs to be a way they can be guaranteed to reintegrate and have enough money to succeed outside of the prison.

Sorry to post a dup. Nothing popped up in the search, but I had the feeling that it could be because Zeezil and I seem to be on the same email list.
