Yuma, Arizona - U.S. Border Patrol agents from Yuma Sector arrested four drug smugglers and seized a combined 442 pounds of marijuana during the past two days. The drugs have an estimated street value of $221,000.

Monday night, agents working southwest of Gila Bend apprehended a group of four drug smugglers carrying 253 pounds of marijuana along a route through the Prieta Cabeza National Wildlife Refuge. The subjects, all male Mexican nationals, and the narcotics were turned over to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

Tuesday night, agents patrolling the western portion of the Prieta Cabeza National Wildlife Refuge discovered 189 pounds of abandoned marijuana. The find was turned over to the Yuma County Narcotics Task Force.
