Hillary Picks La Raza Leader As Campaign Co Chair

    April 12, 2007

The former president of an extremist group that organized many of the country’s disruptive pro illegal immigration marches and advocates the return of the American Southwest to Mexico will co-chair Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.

Best known for his radical pro Chicano work during 30 years as president of the National Council of La Raza, Raul Yzaguirre is being promoted by the Clinton campaign as a prominent Hispanic activist who will lead the New York senator’s outreach to Hispanic voters.

The reality is that Yzaguirre alienates many American citizens of Hispanic descent (in other words, those qualified to vote) with his so-called La Raza rhetoric, which has been repeatedly labeled racist.

The National Council of La Raza describes itself as the largest Latino civil rights and advocacy organization in the United States, but it caters to the radical Chicano movement that says California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and parts of Colorado and Texas belong to Aztlan.

The takeover plan is referred to as the “reconquista” of the Western U.S. and it features ethnic cleansing of Americans, Europeans, Africans and Asians once the area is taken back and converted to Aztlan.

While this may all sound a bit crazy, this organization is quite powerful (thanks to Hillary’s new campaign co-chair) and annually receives millions of dollars in federal grants. Its leaders also managed to get included in congressional hearings regarding immigration. Last year alone, the National Council of La Raza received $15.2 million in federal grants and one senator gave the group an extra $4 million in earmarked American taxpayer dollars.

The organization uses the money to support projects like a Southern California elementary school with a curriculum that specializes in bashing America and promoting the Chicano movement. The school’s founder and principal, a Calexico-educated activist named Marcos Aguilar, opposes racial integration and says Mexicans in the U.S. don’t want to go to white schools or drink from white water fountains.

Actually NCLR has close contact with the White House. They are one of the biggest influences in Washington DC. I called for a transcript of Karl Rove's speach at the NCLR convention. The White House said to call La Raza. I asked how accessable are they? The woman responded that they have daily contact with the La Raza office.

I am one of those American citizens of Hispanic descent you mention in your piece. I am a democrat and would rather vote for the Republican candidate now that Hillary has this racist, extremist La Raza advocate running her campaign.

Not a very smart move. The majority of the people who suscribe/ralte to that radical viva la raza, chicano movement are not in the country legally and therefore cannot vote! This guy will not successfully reach out to Hispanic voters in this country....But he can round up hundreds of thousands of ILLEGAL immigrants to march on our streets.

A friend of mine sent this to her at one of her websites. I think he put it pretty well:

Why did you hire Raul Yzaguirre? Why not Tom Metzger of the Aryan Nation or David Hilliard of the Black Panthers? Could it be that you would like to further the damage to legal citizens caused by our current President? Mr. Yzaguirre headed up an organization that is in part responsible for the mass invasion of our Southern border. If you think that the number of people who stand behind the supremacist views of Yzaguirre will outnumber the people who are sick of the illegal immigrant invasion, you've made a calculated error.

How can you legitimize a man who stands behind lawbreakers? If I were one of your opponents, I'd absolutely hammer you on this issue. John McCain has paid dearly in the polls for his support of amnesty; I hope you do as well. If you haven't checked the polls lately, American citizens want the invasion stopped.

I'll be forwarding information about your hiring of this racial supremacist to EVERYONE I know. At one point, I thought I might be able to support your candidacy. I'm glad you showed your anti-citizen attitude early.

I sent the article to Lou Dobbs. This needs to get national attention. I think I'll send it to Tom Tancredo too.

Hillary Rodham Clinton announced Raul Yzaguirre, a prominent Hispanic activist, would co-chair her presidential campaign and lead its outreach to Hispanic voters.

Raul Humberto Yzaguirre (born c. July 22, 1939 in San Juan, Texas) is an American civil rights activist and open borders globalist. He served as the president of the National Council of La Raza, the largest national Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization in the United States, from 1974 – 2004.

Yzaguirre is well-known in some circles for a controversal statement in the 1990s, when he said,
"US English is to Hispanics as the Ku Klux Klan is to blacks."

Despite some negative media in the past, Yzaguirre brings heavyweight national connections as a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

He was a high profile member of the Independent Task Force on North America (ITFNA), which published Building a North American Community.

The document is often credited as being the blueprint for The Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America, or SPP – launched in 2005 by the national head of Mexico, George Bush representing the USA, and the Canadian Prime Minister at a summit in Waco, Texas.

Critics claim the SPP could be developed into a continental union, complete with a new currency, the amero, that would replace the U.S. dollar just as the euro has replaced the national currencies of Europe.

Hispanic activist, ASU professor backs Clinton White House bid

Prominent Hispanic activist and Arizona State University professor Raul Yzaguirre is backing U.S. Sen Hillary Clinton's 2008 presidential bid and will chair the New York Democrat's Hispanic outreach effort.

Yzaguirre is the former president of the National Council of La Raza and now is a civil rights and community development professor at ASU. He said in a statement that Clinton has worked on behalf of the poor and "invisible" during her years in public service.

Clinton cited Yzaguirre's experience in Hispanic and civil rights issues.

"Throughout his life, Raul Yzaguirre has worked tirelessly to expand civil rights and create opportunity for working Americans," Clinton said in a statement. "I'm delighted that Raul will play a leadership role in this campaign as we reach out to all Americans and ask them to join our effort."

Judicial Watch, a conservative watchdog group critical of Clinton and La Raza, said Yzaguirre and the group promote an anti-Anglo, pro-Mexican agenda.

Clinton is the Democratic frontrunner for the 2008 presidential race, according to public opinion polls. The campaign also features Arizona Sen. John McCain on the Republican side of the ledger.
