Authorities nab, release 4 suspects in 'illegal human trafficking'

LOUDON - Four of six suspected illegal immigrants that fled from authorities after the van they were in was stopped Monday morning on Interstate 75 were captured this morning but then released, an official said.

Authorities with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement were contacted but declined to retrieve the suspects, District Attorney General Russell Johnson said.

"There were no state charges on which to hold the four, who were merely passengers in the operation," Johnson stated in a news release. "State and local agencies have no authority or ability to deport illegal aliens, so they were released."

Still missing: the driver and co-driver of what was Johnson called an "illegal human trafficking operation."

Those two men, paid to transport the passengers, are also allegedly illegal immigrants from Mexico, officials said.

Ten people were in the van when it was stopped near the Sugar Limb Road exit of I-75 Monday morning.

Six of them fled on foot "in unison" when authorities with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrived, said John Sanchez, investigator with the 9th Judicial District.

The incident sparked a massive manhunt that included police dogs and a helicopter from the Knox County Sheriff's Department.

Sanchez said Loudon County Sheriff's Department deputies nabbed the four suspects this morning after a resident reported seeing them walking along New Providence Road.

The suspected illegal immigrants told authorities they were traveling from Texas to Knoxville, where they had been promised work in a restaurant.

I saw this and I am looking all over - our internet is not up to date and not trustworthy - if this is true - google is not my friend - I see nothing about this.

Just more who violated our laws, borders, sovereignty and have no right to be in this country and will take more jobs from Americans while Obama espouses his phony concern for unemployed Americans. We will be forced to pay for their health care, welfare, food stamps, wic, education and other benefits because the Oval Office Imposter in Chief won't do his damn job of securing the damn borders while also saying he will cut the deficit, debt and rein in the spiraling cost of health care and other social services. What if any of those so called "passengers" is from a country of special interest, here to do harm to us? But again I forget Obama doesn't give a damn how many Americans may be killed or victimized by crimes from those illegally in this country including terrorists sneaking into this country via wide open borders. To the "Anointed One" any casualties are acceptable consequences in exchange for cheap labor and more voters.......And I get hassled about a water bottle at the airport while border patrol says thousands from countries that are state sponsors of terrorism illegally cross the border every year. Welcome to the Twilight Zone......

I believe that William meant that by releasing Illegals that are lawfully detained In esscence Is the same thing as an "executive order" granting amnesty because he has obviously Instructed the DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY to stop enforcing the law.... TS

Oh duh. OK. So then all those ICE people can now become unemployed too? Or is that just too honest to ask for? Let's just release all the Border Patrol people from their jobs too. It will save a lot of money and that is all anybody in government seems to care about. We won't have to be Hurtt about betrayal. They can have their slavery and warfare on the streets of our crumbling cities. They can rot in hell for doing it too.

It's easy to understand why the Obama Adminstration refuses to deport illegal aliens who haven't committed any other crimes. In this case, these illegals represent 4 future votes, votes that will most likely go to Democrats. And if the Obama Administration does this inaction hundreds, perhaps a thousand times over, it could mean the difference in key elections.

But what is going to happen with the restaurant that promised the 4-10 illegal aliens work? Shouldn't they be investigated? Or is the Obama Administration going to let this one go too?

Around one week ago, I read an ALIPAC article that said that the Obama Administration was proposing that illegal workers should "squeal" on their employers for some kind of reward. Perhaps the reward is simply non-deportation.

But if the Obama Administration is simply going give a free pass to this restaurant, this would mean that they reneged on their word yet again. Won't they make any kind of effort at serious enforcement of our immigration laws? No wonder Arizona had to come up with their new law, with several other states crafting their own proposals.

That is why we have to remove from office all the Democrats in November. In 2012 we have to elect a new president because Obama does not work for Americans. He works for illegal aliens. THat Americans do not accept. Obama is destroying our country. We do not need a president like Obama.
