With the nation’s Latino population booming and now the country’s largest minority group, the Obama administration’s top Hispanic official is concerned that the federal government is not giving enough attention to Hispanic history and culture.

Interior Secretary Ken Salazar in the past year has pushed the National Park Service to identify more sites or properties related to the histories of women and minorities that could be added to the National Register of Historic Places or be preserved as national parks or historic landmarks.

Less than 3 percent of all the national landmarks that we have — the highest designation you can receive as a historic landmark — are designated for women, Latinos, African Americans or other members of minority groups,â€

What? So they can destroy them by growing Marijuana like they are already doing?

Yea, that National park is already OCCUPIED TERRITORY. Next thing they will want is Yosemite.

The agency is asking the public to weigh in on other sites that could be used to commemorate Chavez’s legacy.

Cesar Chavez was committed to restricting Immigration. He felt it undermined US workers and exploited the migrant workers. In 1969, Chávez and members of the UFW marched through the Imperial and Coachella Valleys to the border of Mexico to protest growers' use of undocumented immigrants. He went so far as to report undocumented immigrants who served as replacement workers, as well as those who refused to unionize, to the Immigration and Naturalization Service. In 1973, the United Farm Workers set up a "wet line" along the United States-Mexico border to prevent Mexican immigrants from entering the United States illegally.

Maybe we could get the agency to recognize Cesar Chavez as an American Patriot who fought against illegal immigration.

We already have the largest Latino theme park. Its called the wall along the border and it features the longerst wall climbing attraction since the great wall of china. Come all ye illegals. Win a chance to get into the USA illegally. All youhave to do is test your skills and climb the fence or wall. Add more drama by bringing your pregnant wife with you. See if she too can make it over the wall. Once over you get to run the obsical course and dodge the Border Patrol. If you succeed and you do not have a Felony conviction congratulations. The Obama administration will give you automatic back door amnesty. Yep its free its fun and exciting.

Where are the Chinese, Italian and Irish themed parks. They built the railroads and much of the infrastructure in this country - Ken Salazar abusing his power by using the public treasury to pander to his own ethnicity.

I am sceptical of his motives because when he was elected as a Senator in Colorado there were 2.5 million "new" Hispanic voters registered that ensured his election. We now know that many illegal aliens are registered to vote in Colorado. Pandering on the governments dime. JMO
