Panelist recommends "free market" for immigration

Conservative panelists speaking about immigration at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Thursday largely agreed the United States needs a physical fence to stop people from entering the country illegally.

But for one panelist, 700 miles of fence at a cost of $2.2 billion – as projected by HR4437 that passed the House of Representatives in December – looks like a tax burden for the American people, not a solution to the immigration problem.

Helen Krieble, a business woman from Colorado and head of a small public policy organization, proposed fixing America’s broken immigration system with a tried and true formula: the free market.
