    Del Rio, Texas - Thursday, April 11, U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Del Rio station, as part of the South Texas Campaign, which leverages federal, state and local resources to combat transnational criminal organizations, rescued an undocumented alien from the Rio Grande River.     Comstock Station Border Patrol Agents Arrest Sex Offender

    Del Rio, Texas -- U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Comstock station apprehended a convicted sex offender Wednesday night. Agents patrolling a local ranch encountered Eduardo Lopez-Perez, 40, an undocumented immigrant from Mexico. During processing, agents discovered Lopez-Perez had been previously deported from the United States and was a registered sex offender. (more)

    Del Rio Sector Border Patrol Agents Seize Nearly $1 Million Worth of Marijuana in One Day

    Del Rio, Texas - U.S. Border Patrol agents, throughout Del Rio sector, seized more than 1,000 pounds of marijuana, and assisted in seizing nearly $150,000 in U.S. currency. Wednesday, in three different incidents, agents from the Eagle Pass North, and Uvalde stations seized 1,024 pounds of marijuana, worth an estimated $820,096. (more)

    Border Patrol Agents Rescue Sacred Reptiles

    Tucson, Ariz. - Two tortoises trapped in a mining pit on the Tohono O'odham Nation were rescued recently by Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents. Agents from the Three Points sub-station were patrolling on foot in the Chukut Kuk District when they discovered Sonoran Desert tortoises trapped in a 10-foot hole under dense debris. (more)

    San Luis, Ariz. - A 41-year-old Mexican woman was arrested Wednesday for attempting to smuggle nearly 2.5 pounds of heroin and nearly nine pounds of marijuana into the United States. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Field Operations (OFO) agriculture specialists at Baltimore Washington Thurgood Marshall International Airport discovered a new pest in the United States when they intercepted, Tetraleurodes andropogoni, a type of whitefly, while inspecting fresh leaves found inside of a traveler's luggage on March 10, 2013.
