A delegation of Indian CEO's visited the White House this weekend and were assured that there would be no new restrictions on H-1B visas unless unemployment numbers get worse. The current H-1B program allows for 65,000 visas to be issued annually to high-skilled workers in tech and medical fields. Employers have to show that there are no available American workers to fill the jobs, but critics say the current program is riddled with fraud.

According to an article published by The Business Insider, Indian CEO's were told there would be no restrictions unless unemployment became drastically worse. The group of CEO's met with the Director of the National Economic Council Lawrence Summers.

The concerns by the Indian CEO's were raised after the economic stimulus legislation passed last month put restrictions on banks receiving TARP money from hiring foreign workers.
