Agriprocessors: We’re immigrants too!
Agriprocessors: We’re immigrants too!
Author: Ben Harris Filed under: Agriprocessors, Kashrut Tuesday
Jul 29,2008
Two days after immigrants and their advocates marched in Postville, Agriprocessors released this statement:
The founders of Agriprocessors, the Rubashkin family, are a Jewish refugee family that escaped the clutches of Communism decades ago. Aron and Rivka Rubashkin fled Soviet Russia after experiencing oppression in the anti religious regime. Mrs. Rubashkin’s uncles were imprisoned in Siberia due to their religious beliefs. Mr. Rubashkin noted: “As immigrants in America we found freedom and opportunity. We fully understand the pain and suffering which immigrants are going through in building better lives.â€Support our FIGHT AGAINST illegal immigration & Amnesty by joining our E-mail Alerts at http://eepurl.com/cktGTn

Good! So the Rubashkins should pay for the expenses of deportation of the illegal aliens back to their home country and give them some seed money to resume their lives in their homelands, perhaps an amount equal to the legal wages and overtime pay they were denied while in the illegal employ of Agriprocessors.

Yes, interesting idea Judy.
I also wonder why is it that often times people that recently immigrate (emigrate) here, are often the most exploitative and cruel to other newcomers. Many of the things the Rubashkin company is accused of are pretty serious crimes, and accordingly, I hope they are put out of business for good. No city in the country needs companies so bad that they are willing to allow people to literally become enslaved, used as sex objects or for 'favors', etc.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

And hasn't this country been good to this family? Seems they don't stop to think about that, do they? As far as I'm concerned they can ride the boat back to Russia. Come here and have all the advantages of life in the USA, and as a "Thank You" for taking them in they turn around and blatantly crap on our laws, our way of life. No Thanks. Get out! Just my opinion.

There is no justification at all for what Agriprocessors allowed to occur in their facility in Postville, Iowa. They had family running that plant. Everyone knows that in Postville, Iowa is you show up and don't speak English and don't have a green card:
a) you are not a US citizen
b) you are not a legal resident
c) you are an illegal alien with fraudulent documents
d) claiming you didn't know isn't an excuse because you should have known.
Yes, I hope the customers of Kosher meat products shut this industry down and teach every immigrant a lesson that once you're here legally, you abide our laws to the letter or we'll deport you too.
Maybe DHS should be investigating the paperwork on the Rubashkins to see if they're even legal residents or valid US citizens of the United States to begin with. Maybe they're from Russia and maybe they aren't.A Nation Without Borders Is Not A Nation - Ronald Reagan

There are too many legal immigrants (period in my opinion ) who profess to love this country for the freedom and money (euphemistically called opportunity) but have absolutely no concept of the responsibility and sometimes sacrifice required to preserve what they were given here. Not that all the native born do either; but, that's a different issue. This seems to be a good example of what Thomas Jefferson was referring to when he (allegedly) said "I fear immigration because all that the immigrants bring with them is the failed institutions of their place of origin". Just thought that I would throw that in as sort as a counter balance to all the population growth and immigration expansion advocates that have been squawking lately, usually in the name of "the economy".
