    The Border Patrol is on schedule to meet President Bush's goal of doubling its workforce during his presidency to more than 18- thousand agents.

    The Laredo Border Patrol sector gained approximately 500 agents from 2007 to 2008.

    "We have a workforce of 1,700 officer corps which are actual border patrol agents deployed through the 9 stations in the Laredo sector.â€
