Border Patrol agents apprehended a homicide suspect out of Maricopa County and seized 1,300 pounds of marijuana Monday.
At about 3:40 p.m., agents pulled over a man who was driving suspiciously headed south on Arizona 85 in between Why and Lukeville, said Gustavo Soto, Border Patrol Tucson Sector spokesman. The agent spotted a bloody towel in the passenger seat and called for assistance.
Pima County Sheriff’s investigators responded and through further questioning, determined that the man had a girlfriend in Buckeye, Ariz.
Agents in the Buckeye area responded to the man’s residence and found his girlfriend dead, Soto said.
It’s unknown if the man is connected to her death but he was turned over to Maricopa County Sheriff’s investigators for questioning, Soto said.
Also on Monday, just before midnight, agents seized 1,316 pounds of marijuana in an abandoned truck found on the Tohono O’odham Reservation on Federal Route 1, he said.
A National Guard helicopter spotted two vehicles in the area and saw one escaped back into Mexico.
Agents on horse patrol later found the second vehicle, a 2004 Dodge Ram pickup reported stolen out of Surprise, Ariz., with 94 bundles of marijuana, he said.

    thank you border agents

Finding drugs and getting rid of them is one of the jobs that border agents were hired to do. At someone within the federal govenment can do their job.

My goodness, how much marijuana do they have in that country. Seems like every day, there is a huge bust some where. I can only imagine what gets through.
