Illegal immigrants detained after $276K in cash found in vehicle

BLYTHE - Two illegal immigrants driving around with bundles of cash totaling more than $275,000 were detained by U.S. Border Patrol agents during a traffic stop near Blythe, the agency reported today.

The Mexican nationals, who were not identified, were stopped in a Dodge pickup truck on Interstate 10 around 3:30 a.m. Jan. 4, according to the Border Patrol.

A registration check revealed the license plate on the pickup belonged on a Suzuki sport utility vehicle, leading to further investigation, said Agent Shaun Kuzia.

After determining the men were in the country illegally, the pair were arrested and the pickup was towed to the Blythe Border Patrol station, where a search uncovered "several bundles of cash inside a tarp hidden in the bed of the truck,'' Kuzia said.

Roughly 30 bundles were discovered, containing a total $276,325 in U.S. currency, according to Kuzia.

The possible origin of the cash was not disclosed.

Kuzia said the two occupants of the pickup were processed for deportation.

Probably just making their rounds picking up this weeks drug profits! No worries, they will be back by next week to continue where they left off. They will steal another license plate with valid registration tags and do the same thing all over again.

If the ignorant invaders have learned anything from their harrowing ordeal, it would be: Next time, make sure to steal a license plate that matches the make of the vehicle currently driving!

At least we keep the money here, can be used in more enforcement measures.

If that was drug money, I don't think their "boss" will be very happy to have lost it. You play with the cartels, you pay for it, one way or another.
