Arrest made in burglaries of Indian American homes

A Columbian national arrested Wednesday in Houston in connection with a string of house burglaries targeting Indians, Pakistanis and Middle Easterners is being investigated in connection with similar crimes in The Woodlands.

Ariel Antonio Zuritam, 27, of Houston, was charged with burglary of a habitation in connection with at least 93 home burglaries in Montgomery, Harris and Fort Bend counties.

There have been at least 10 such incidents in The Woodlands since April, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Lt. Dan Norris said. The most recent house burglary in The Woodlands occurred Sept. 18 in the Village of Creekside Park, a Woodlands neighborhood located in Harris County.

Wednesday’s arrest came as a result of a joint investigation between several local agencies, including the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office and the Harris County Sheriff’s Department.

As of Thursday afternoon, no charges had been filed against Zuritam in connection with burglaries in Montgomery County, but an MCSO detective took part in the Wednesday arrest and the agency is in the process of “trying to connect the dots,â€
