    Border Crime Reports---Email Your Rep.

The US Department of Justice maintains websites from which news stories related to crime on the US borders can be found. It's not unusual to find news of drug busts involving dozens of suspects. Weapons, commercial contraband--not to mention humans--are being smuggled across our borders and our brave men and women in the US Customs and Border Patrol are intercepting them. Other agencies also cooperate.

Thursday I started emailing to my Representative accounts of these operations. I figure this is better than simply me spouting off my own opinion. It is usually easy to email a short message and either a link or the whole story, depending on the webform your Congressman uses.

What might be even better is to have local elected officials who are struggling with the costs of illegal immigration and related crimes send their views. Even when local governments and taxpayers are picking up the tab on these crimes--the Congressional representatives will be hounded by groups asking for an open borders policy and amnesty. I'm just trying to build up a case now---using official government documents---in anticipation that a "comprehemsive immigration reform" solution will once again come to the floor in both chambers of Congress.

Here are some links to sites that are loaded with outrageous stories:

    http://www.usdoj.gov/dea/index.htm
    http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/newsroom/news_releases/
    http://www.usdoj.gov/ndic/topics/ndtas.htm
    http://www.ice.gov/pi/news/newsreleases/

I wonder what these border operations are costing the US taxpayers. Why should we have to pay a single penny?

    Secure Borders = Safer Nation

Bring our troops home and put them on our border to stop the invasion of our country by Mexico.

Some troops have already come home.
It seems they are more interested in Martial Law in America, than bothering with 30 - 40 million illegals.

With predicted Democrat gains in both the US Senate and House, it will be much easier for them to pass Amnesty legislation. Then, all of these other suggestions will be moot---because the IA's will have been legalized. Best thing, IMO, is to keep building a case with Congressmen who do not yet belong to the Immigration Reform Caucus, started by Tom Tancredo and now chaired by Rep. Brian Bilbray.

If immigration proponents get around to introducing an Amnesty bill in the Senate, it will be a real storm---and we just hope that the House will hold together enough to stop it. The more Representatives who will join Bilbray's caucus, the better. We need to nudge along the fence sitters.
