STARR COUNTY - Jury selection will begin on Monday for two Mexican nationals accused of storing thousands of pounds of pot on a Starr County ranch.

Jose Vielma Garcia and Jesus Hinojosa have been in federal custody since earlier this year. Border patrol agents say the two were safeguarding over 6,000 pound of marijuana at a ranch near the city of Roma.

Gonzalez is also accused of assaulting a border patrol agent during his arrest. The men claim they were only trying to walk north through the South Texas brush.
