U.S. Border Patrol arrested men with ties to the 18th Street gang and Mara Salvatrucha or MS-13.

The two men were arrested in the U.S. after entering the country illegally, Border Patrol said.

The Mexican 18th Street gang member was arrested near Roma on Tuesday.

Agents found the El Salvadorian MS-13 gang member near Sarita

The cases have been referred to prosecutor’s out of the Rio Grande Valley sector.

The 18th Street gang is known for distributing drugs and committing crimes such as homicide and assault, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

The FBI deemed MS-13 as “extremely violent” and said the gang often targets youth.

Border Patrol said they have apprehended 195 gang members over the past five months.
