UN alarmed at 'immigrant detention camps'

ATHENS, Greece — The U.N. refugee agency says it is "alarmed" at the conditions at a Greek detention center where hundreds of illegal immigrants are being held, including scores of children.
The UNHCR said Friday that 200 unaccompanied children are among 850 people detained on Lesvos island in the eastern Aegean Sea. It also said many of the 50 babies there have illnesses "related to the cramped and unsanitary conditions of the center."
The UNHCR has urged Greece, which faces a major illegal immigration problem, to overhaul its asylum system.
Greece says it detained more than 146,000 illegal immigrants in 2008 – most from the coast of nearby Turkey – including 2,648 unaccompanied children. Detained minors often have been separated from adult companions or hope to join relatives in Greece or elsewhere in the European Union.

Don't reward the criminal actions of millions of illegal aliens by giving them citizenship.

Protect
Protect your Borders. Protect your People.
If the U N doesnt like the conditions the U N can take them off the Greek's hands (Hopefully not using money they mooched from the U S)
Good fences make good neighbors. When you stop respecting other people and their laws AND nothing is done about them invading, chaos is sure to follow. Multiculturalism doesnt work. The reason America works is because it is its own culture and everyone assimilated in the past, UNTIL NOW.

Now why can't the US do something like this?
Greece, like most European countries, does not give automatic citizenship to children born in the country. And becoming a naturalized citizen is a long, difficult process: Greece makes it harder than almost any other country in the European Union – only Austria is tougher. It’s also the only one of the original EU 15 that makes no special provisions for children born to immigrants in the country. Members of the Greek diaspora, in contrast, can get a passport easily.
Wonder how many screams of discrimination and racism they have? Probably none.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
