TX: Valley law enforcement threatened by cartels

Valley law enforcement officials get threats from drug cartels

Rio Grande Valley law enforcement officials told Action 4 News that they have received threats from drug cartels saying, 'They will be sorry.'

Zapata County Sheriff Sigifredo Gonzalez said his office received that very threat.

He said, despite the call, his department will continue to do their job and that is protecting the citizens of Zapata County.

Sheriff Gonzalez also said his deputies are on high alert and are told to be extra careful when out patrolling.

"We've received information that there could be mass exodus of cartel members coming here," said Gonzalez. "We're on the lookout and not putting our hands down we're on high alert."

Gonzalez said more needs to be done to protect the border.

He said Mexico need to re-evaluate what is happening on their side of the border -because it is out of control and they need help.

I'm feeling really sorry for Sheriff Sigifredo Gonzalez. There's this huge group of Americans/non Americans out there in the world who keep insisting that he had something to do with the death of David Hartley. Not to mention insinuations up the wazoo that he's working for the cartels.
This is what happens when the Federal government refuses stick up for law enforcement in our country. It's also why people who don't live on the border of Mexico have no clue what really goes on.

Well, they upped the ante... or should I say bounty on their own heads? Threatening LEO's makes them more likely to shoot first and ask questions later. Or as I like to say "let God sort them out".

What scares me is that if they do use lethal force who will back them up? Of course we would, but they would have a tough row to hoe if it came to the D.O. mis-Justice or any of Obozo's other yes men!

Yet Obama and DHS claim the border areas are safer than ever and are pulling out the token National Guardsmen they sent.

I hope these incoming US Congressmen get off their buts and do something quick. American are not going to wait much longer.
