Upcoming panel discussion to examine impact of illegal immigration



Residents are invited to a discussion on the impacts of illegal immigration on northern Colorado.

The upcoming Colorado Conversations, which will focus on economic and other impacts of illegal immigration, will take place at 6 p.m. Aug. 12 at the Hensel Phelps Theatre at the Union Colony Civic Center, 701 10th Ave. in Greeley.

The event will feature several panel members, including Greeley Police Chief Jerry Garner; Weld County Commissioner Bill Garcia; Larry Burkhardt, Weld County economic development officer; Jay Norton, president of the University of Northern Colorado; and Maria Liu, a criminal defense attorney.

The event, which is hosted by the Greeley Group, also will include featured speaker Federico Pena, former Energy and Treasury secretary.
