Five congressmen said they would have a news conference today in Washington, D.C., to support the efforts of two former El Paso Border Patrol agents to remain free on bond while they appeal their conviction in the case of a drug smuggler who was shot in the buttocks in 2005 near Fabens.
The elected officials said they wrote a letter to Attorney General Alberto Gonzales requesting the Justice Department to direct federal prosecutors to not oppose a motion for bond continuance by the agents, Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean.
If a federal judge denies the motion, Ramos and Compean have to surrender on Jan. 17 to start their decade-long prison sentences.
The Congress members are Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif., Ted Poe, R-Texas, Walter Jones, R-N.C., Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., and Duncan Hunter, R-Calif.Support our FIGHT AGAINST illegal immigration & Amnesty by joining our E-mail Alerts at https://eepurl.com/cktGTn

Honestly, I don't feel anything except another massive 911 could wake up America to the fact that we are sitting ducks because of our unsecured borders. In the next 2 years that Bush has left in the White House, he will have totally ruined our country. We have all heard of the Beast in the Bible's revelation, the last chapter in the Bible, no, I don't really feel that Bush is that person, however, I do feel, that Bush will already have done America in by the time revelation comes to pass! In another 2 yrs time, we will no longer recognize our country as the America we once knew. Sadly, most Americans are sleeping right through this in their own form of denial, called escapism, using reality tv shows, and video games, and awful movies, to help them escape what is going on all around them, at the hands of our own government and the government of Mexico. Sleep on America you silly people, would to God that I could!

I, too, believe Bush is systematically ruining this country. He's got us in a war we can't win, lets our borders be unsecured, obviously he does not back our brave border patrol agents, we have a trade deficit that is unbelievable and now many of our intrastructure is for sale to foreign countries (like our roads). Just the debt from this war of his will last for who knows how many generations? He has an agenda that scares me to death. What has he done right?

I am not sure what he has done right, you would have to ask the Illegals that question! I think the Congressmen who are fighting for the border guards are going to be back on Lou's show tonight.

Soon James, we will be as Isreal, surrounded by our enemies, with a whole lot of them right here among us! I think that is when the true Americans will stand up and be counted, just as those brave men stood, until they fell at the Alamo!

Congressmen Make Appeal In Border Patrol Case
Last Updated:
01-10-07 at 5:03PM
Five lawmakers, including a congressman from San Diego are asking President Bush not to send two border patrol agents to prison.
Agents Jose Campean and Ignacio Ramos are set to start their prison sentence next Wednesday. They were found guilty of injuring a drug smuggler during a shooting in Texas in 2005 and not reporting it.
Congressman Duncan Hunter says the agents should remain free on bail while their appeal is pending.
"In this case we will have two of our best border patrol agents put in confinement with the very people that they brought to justice. That's like sending our Soldiers and our Marines who have been prosecuted into a confinement with al Qaeda," Hunter said.
Hunter and other lawmakers also sent a letter to President Bush asking him to pardon the agents.
The drug smuggler was granted immunity for his testimony.Support our FIGHT AGAINST illegal immigration & Amnesty by joining our E-mail Alerts at https://eepurl.com/cktGTn
