EL PASO, Texas -- El Paso police have announced the arrest of three men in connection with the slaying of an apparent Juarez Cartel member and Immigration and Customs Enforcement informant in East El Paso.

Police allege Ruben Rodriguez Dorado, 30, helped hire Christopher Duron, 17, and Michael Jackson Apodaca, to shoot and kill Jose Daniel Gonzalez-Galeana outside his East El Paso home.

According to police, Gonzalez-Galeana was a lieutenant in the Juarez Cartel but working with ICE as an informant. At the same time, Dorado is also being identified as a Juarez Cartel member and an ICE informant.

On May 15, police allege Duron drove Apodaca to Gonzalez-Galeana’s home. Apodaca allegedly then shot and killed him.

Apodaca has been identified by Fort Bliss officials as a soldier enlisted in the Army at the post.

"We've got a wanted subject still outstanding and there are several other arrests pending," El Paso police Chief Gregory Allen said at a news conference Tuesday.

A capital murder arrest warrant has also been issued for Jesus Aguayo Salas, 33. Salas is also allegedly a member of the Juarez Cartel and was involved in the planning of the crime.

Allen said Tuesday that he was upset with ICE officials for not telling his department that Juarez Cartel members were being allowed to live in El Paso.

“In keeping the community safe I need to know anybody that may be posing a risk to the community, so those concerns were made to ICE today and other agencies," Allen said. "They better let me know from now on and that's what I've tried to made known for a long period of time."

ICE would not comment specifically on this case only saying:

"As a matter of policy, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) does not confirm or deny identification of confidential sources of information."
