HOUSTON—Houston’s ongoing gang wars claimed more lives Sunday as two innocent bystanders were caught in the crossfire.

This weekend alone, police sources said gang members shot eight people, killing three of them.

The sounds of the gunshots lasted for just seconds, but the sounds of violence lingered long after the triggers were pulled as neighbors cried out for their loved ones.

Around 2 p.m. Sunday at the Peachtree Apartment Complex near Rampart and Glenmont, police said gang members shot three people.

Police sources said that shooting was retaliation for what happened at the same apartment complex Friday morning, when two young men were shot and killed.

Around 4:30 p.m. Sunday on Reims at Hornwood, police said gang members shot three men. Investigators aren’t sure if that shooting was connected to the two others, but they believe the gang known as the Southwest Cholos was involved in all three.
