LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) -- State and federal officials charged 9 workers at a Somerset hardwood milling company with felony identification theft.

Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement Sgt. Brian Jackson said there are warrants charging 29 more employees of Somerset Hardwood and Flooring with the same crime.

Jackson said another 34 workers there were found to have supplied fake, but not stolen, Social Security numbers.

Jackson said the business in south-central Kentucky would not likely face any charges, saying the company appeared to have taken reasonable steps to verify the workers' identities.

The case grew from a traffic stop last week during which an officer found the driver had a fake ID and Social Security number.
