Caltrans to pay Minutemen in settlement over cleanup on I-5

A settlement has been reached between Caltrans and the San Diego Minutemen that gives the anti-illegal-immigration activists what they were hoping for: the right to keep their Adopt-A-Highway sign on northbound Interstate 5, a cash payment, and litter cleanup on an additional stretch of the freeway.
The settlement was reached Monday, according to federal court records. In ending the lawsuit the group filed last year, the state conceded that the San Diego Minutemen sign near the Border Patrol's San Clemente checkpoint will remain for the duration of a five-year permit, and that the group may continue to clean the highway shoulder there, said attorney Howard Kaloogian, who represented the group.
The activists had sued on grounds of free-speech discrimination. “They are pleased that justice has been done, that their free-speech rights are being respected and protected,â€

This is great! It's about time! If it was the KKK, I would understand, but the MM are patriots trying to defend our sovereignty.

Speaking of which back in the 90's I was on a spelunking trip in Northern Arkanas/Southern Missouri and outside of Eureka Springs there was a Adopt a Highway sign that was sponsored by the KKK. I had to stop and take a picture. I could imagine these idiots picking up trash in full KKK robes.

Now, reverse this and imagine what would have happened if La Raza would have put a sign up and any of us racists would have asked to take it down. It would not even have gotten to court.

An American group having to go to court for free speech? Sounds pretty racist on their part to me.

The lawyer for the SDMM says that Caltrans will formally apologize for initially denying the SDMM their 1st Amendment rights of free speech.

Caltrans should also apologize for selling a $1 million plot of land to the city of Laguna Beach for only $18,000 (but probably won't).
