    As the veteran officer darted for cover behind the door of his unmarked police car, the illegal immigrant continued to advance on him, both hands grasping a black and chrome object aimed at the officer.

    Later, Knox County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. David Amburn would recall how it seemed the 5-foot-7-inch man seemed to have the benefit of police training. When Amburn would make a tactical move, the now-23-year-old suspect would counter with a maneuver of his own.

    Amburn was placed on routine administrative leave with pay during the internal investigation of the shooting. The probe found Amburn’s actions were appropriate.
    His actions may not have been inappropriate however his aim was very inappropriate..............This officer needs to spend more time on the range burning powder.
