Mexico Tells U.S. Senators What To Expect

Mexico ties border security to massive illegal alien amnesty
    By Chris Kelly · July 13, 2005 07:39 PM
Jorge Castaneda - Vicente Fox' former foreign minister - spoke before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee yesterday and said the following:

"There can be no future cooperation [on border security and anti-terrorism measures] beyond what already exists without some form of immigration package"
In other words, give us a massive amnesty for all of our citizens in your country, or else. Bear in mind that Castaneda was not speaking for the Mexican government, although there can be little doubt that what he said reflects their opinion to a great degree.

According to Ira Mehlman of FAIR, several of the members of the committee nodded in agreement to that and his other remarks. Please use this link to contact those Senators and suggest they sharply renounce Castaneda's statements.

There are some additional details in "Mexican candidate says U.S. must liberalize immigration" which starts out:

While Mexico has enhanced security since the Sept. 11 attacks, future cooperation hinges on U.S. willingness to liberalize its immigration policies, former Mexican Foreign Minister Jorge Castaneda warned Congress on Tuesday...
In 2002 when he was still working for Fox, Castaneda said the following:

"What's important is that American society sees a possible migratory agreement in a positive light," Castaneda said. "We are already giving instructions to our consulates that they begin propagating militant activities -- if you will -- in their communities."
If you don't particularly like the idea of our "friends" to the South making threats, please contact the Senators and suggest that perhaps all that "cheap" labor just isn't worth it.

UPDATE: FAIR has issued a strongly-worded press release:

"When anyone, much less a former foreign minister of a supposedly friendly nation, comes before a committee of the United States Senate, and issues ultimatums and thinly veiled threats against the United States, one would expect outrage and condemnation from members of Congress. Instead, we got meek acquiescence or deafening silence from the members who were present," said Stein. "If the government of Mexico is not prepared to join us in this struggle, without conditions, then they cannot claim to be an ally and our government must view them as such. Allies do not engage in extortion."
FAIR is calling upon the Bush Administration and Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice to formally protest Castaneda's demands with the Mexican government. "If Colin Powell were to make similarly outrageous demands in a foreign capital, we would expect a reply and repudiation from the American government. We should expect no less from the current government of Mexico," Stein said.

I'd be very surprised if the Bush administration or the Senators do anything about this, but maybe if they get enough phone calls they might.

This is the same story as yesterday, but it is clear we are not the only ones who viewed this as a very negative sign.

    Hello Mexico!

    Good-bye Mexico!!

WE DON'T NEED YOUR HELP SECURING OUR BORDERS!

    Thanks, but No Thanks, Amigos!!

You take care of your side, however you wish.

We will take care of our side, however we wish.

You are a free nation, free to do as you please.

We are a free nation, free to do as we please.

Our El Presidente intends to attempt to rule your country his way, but that is not OUR WAY.

My advice, is to bring your people back home to Mexico where they will be safe from what lays ahead in the United States.

Things are out of control here in America, but will soon be brought back on track. It would best for your people here to return to their homes in Mexico.

This isn't really about Mexico or even your people. This is about a betrayal of the American People by their Government which must be corrected and justice enacted to all those Government Officials who thought they could dissolve the United States without the consent of the American People.

    Call your people home.

    Thanks!!

Building a wall like Israel is doing between itself and Palestine territority makes more sense. It will be cheaper and be far more effective!

This is outrageous. Where do I even begin?

"There can be no future cooperation [on border security and anti-terrorism measures] beyond what already exists without some form of immigration package"
The only amnesty I would ever give your criminal citizens is a 30 day amnesty to pack their bags and head south or face brute force if necessary to remove your illegal behinds out of our country. That's if I was in charge. Then again I'm a real man with guts and not some spineless, cowardly little school girl from Harvard or Yale like Jorge Bush who wouldn't know what leadership was if it smacked him in his forehead.

While Mexico has enhanced security since the Sept. 11 attacks, future cooperation hinges on U.S. willingness to liberalize its immigration policies, former Mexican Foreign Minister Jorge Castaneda warned Congress on Tuesday...
HAHAHAHAHA you rats can't even secure your own homeland which is run by mafia style drug cartels and gangs. We're also suppose to believe that your going to help us secure our borders when illegals sending home billions of dollars of remittance (mostly drug money smuggled back into Mexico) is their second highest source of revenue for Mexico? How pathetic these Mexican illegals are when their only reason for existence is to be exploited whores, cashcows for their own corrupt government who can't even save themselves from themselves.

That's not all. Here's some quotes from the original source:

Castaneda, now a professor at New York University, went on to describe immigration reform as amnesty for all Mexicans living illegally in the U.S., the admission of some 5 million additional Mexican citizens to the U.S. over the next ten years, and massive increases in U.S. aid to that country.
You got to be kidding me. Let me get this straight. In order for our supposed friend (if you believe that your brain dead btw) to help us out on the war on terror, we're suppose to just hand over our country and allow ourselves to be overtaken by floods of illegal Mexicans and their familes and then subsidize the whole entire country of Mexico and their citizens on top of that? You know when the Mexicans flood into our country they'll demand in-state tuition, welfare, free healthcare, food stamps, drivers licenses, etc which will cost us billions of dollars, they will send back billions in remittance and then on top of that we're suppose to shell out billions of dollars in foreign aide to a country that is trampling on our sovereignty?

If I had a friend like that, he would be lucky if he wasn't picking his teeth off of the ground, let alone still be my friend. Seriously, we're suppose to give all of these concessions to a country that won't even extradite illegal aliens back into our countries custody who are known to have killed cops while they were here illegally in our country and then fleed back to Mexico once they committed their heinous crime? No I don't think so. This is nothing, but blatant, in your face extortion, total blackmail if you will.

Castaneda said that Mexico would offer "tough" but "non-coercive" assistance in the effort to prevent terrorists from entering the U.S. via Mexico. Castaneda conceded that Mexico has lost control of its own southern border, and cannot verify the true identities of people to whom it has issued ID documents.
So in other words. We can't really help you, but you better pay up anyway. These pukes are trying to make us pay through the nose just for tepid cooperation. Unbelieveable the greediness and selfishness of this country. Their arrogance knows no boundaries. Seriously, we are the most powerful country in the world. So why would we need a third world rathole like Mexico to help us secure our borders? Answer is we don't. If we put troops on our borders and erected an electrical/barbed wire fence then there is no way that our borders could be penetrated. Oh and it would cost a fraction of what we pay for in illegal alien benefits every year. If we were to get serious about enforcing our laws for a change then most of these illegals would leave on their own knowing that they have no reason to stay in this country. As much as we bitch about China, I bet China wouldn't allow themselves to be overtaken and flooded by millions of Mexicans in their country.

Dan Stein, it's a very noble effort on your part, but do you honestly think your going to get any sort of action or even as much as another boring stump speech from a quisling like Jorge Bush WHO RUNS AND HIDES AT THE FIRST SIGN OF TROUBLE? DO YOU HONESTLY THINK THAT YOUR GOING TO EVEN GET ANY LEADERSHIP OUT OF A DUNCE WHO'S IDEA OF ACTION IS TO GIVE ANOTHER BORING STUMP SPEECH ABOUT EVIL DOERS AFTER ONE OF OUR ALLIES (A REAL ALLY IN BRITIAN, NOT A FAKE ALLY IN MEXICO) RECEIVES ONE OF THE WORST ATTACKS ON THEM SINCE WWII? THIS PRESIDENT IS A FRAUD AND AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE TO HIS COUNTRY. HOW DARE HE AND THESE CORRUPT SENATORS LIKE MCQUEEN AND LUGIE SELLOUT OUR COUNTRIES SECURITY TO THE HANDS OF A CORRUPT, ROTTEN, CRIME BLOATED, THIRD WORLD, MEXICAN GOVERNMENT? YOU QUISLINGS SHOULD BE PUT IN LEVENWORTH FOR THIS. YOU CLAIM TO TELL THE WORLD THAT YOU DON'T NEGIOTATE WITH TERRORISTS, BUT YET YOU DO NEGIOTATE AND THIS IS PROOF OF THAT. THIS IS INEXCUSEABLE. I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S MORE UNACCEPTABLE. THE FILTH COMING OUT OF CASTANEDA'S MOUTH OR THE REACTION FROM THE SOULESS VERMIN IN THE SENATE AND IN THE WHITE HOUSE.

AMERICA I WILL SAY THIS ONE MORE TIME. IF YOU ARE AS ANGRY AS I AM THEN YOU BETTER SURE AS HELL DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. IT'S ALL GREAT THAT WE ARE HERE COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS, BUT IF YOU ALL DON'T GET OFF YOUR DUFFS AND GET OUT THERE TO VOTE THESE TRAITORS OUT OF OFFICE REGARDLESS OF PARTY AFFILIATION IN THE CONGRESS/SENATE AND THE WHITE HOUSE STARTING IN 2006 THEN YOU KNOW WHAT? WHAT'S HAPPENING TO OUR COUNTRY IS YOUR FAULT TOO. IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE GUTS TO VOTE THESE SCUMBAGS OUT OF OFFICE AND IF YOUR NOT WILLING TO SEND THEM A MESSAGE THAT THEIR TRAITOROUS ACTIONS WON'T BE TOLERATED IN ANYWAY SHAPE OR FORM THEN YOU ALL HAVE NO ONE TO BLAME BUT YOURSELVES AND YOUR NO BETTER THAN THE COWARDLY POLITICANS AND YOUR PRETTY DAMN STUPID TOO. THAT'S ALL. IF AMERICA FALLS, DON'T JUST BLAME THE TRAITOROUS POLITICANS, BLAME YOURSELVES TOO. IF AMERICA FALLS AND YOU ALL START BITCHING ABOUT OH WE SHOULD HAVE DONE SOMETHING AND TALK ABOUT WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN, I DON'T EVEN WANT TO HEAR ABOUT IT. DON'T COME CRYING TO ME BECAUSE I WON'T EVEN LISTEN.
