Latino leader says law won’t force illegals out of state

COLUMBIA - A South Carolina Latino leader said this afternoon that illegal immigrants in the state will not leave just because of a recently passed immigration reform law hailed by legislators as the toughest in the nation.

Diana Salazar, who heads the Latino Association of Charleston, held a press conference at the Statehouse today to ask Gov. Mark Sanford to veto the bill, which cleared the Legiuslature last week. Sanford has said he likes the legislation.

Salazar said the bill might reduce the number of illegal immigrants coming to the state but she doesn’t believe it will reduce those now here.

“The undocumented that are already here aren’t going to pack up and leave,â€

‘You’re not welcome here anymore, now we can do something about it.’â€

defiance, arrogance, hubris. What is really the issue is that those breaking the law and their advocates are in your face despite the law breaking and of course the consequences that millions upon millions of illegals cause.

American citizens standing up for the rule of law and supporting immigration enforcement are not engaging in hate. Demanding that an orderly and legal process of immigration to our country be equally applied to all countries and cultures is not hateful.

These are the true haters:
La Raza "The Race", Mexican Consulates and their Consul Generals, MEChA, LULAC, MALDEF, CHIRLA, La Voz de Atzlan, Zapatista Army of National Liberation, Mexicanos Sin Fronteras (Mexicans Without Borders), EL Pueblo, and the Latino Association of Charleston to name a few. Throw the ACLU and the SPLC into this mix, as well, with the hate speech coming from them toward those who support the law and immigration enforcement.

I find it completely ludicrous that some Hispanics and their supporters claim that enforcement of our immigration laws (and those of us that support that enforcement) are racist, xenophobic and anit-hispanic. This has no basis in fact, since illegal immigrants are comprised of many nationalities. It is true, though, that 75-80% of illegal immigrants are Hispanic, which is due largely to Latin Americas proximity to our borders.

If these Hispanics that cry racism because the vast majority of Americans are against ALL illegal immigration want to feel "less persecuted", stop invading our country. By doing so you will have removed yourselves from the equation and issue. However, you will still see most Americans against ALL illegal immigration, with no regard to race, culture or ethnicity.

The illegals piled OUT OF Georgia, Arizona, and Oklahoma.

They are going to flee SC too regardless of the projections of this woman.

Salazar knows not of what she speaks...bottom line IA's flee when there are no jobs and no benefits and law enforcement starts doing their job. She can't control that..and that's why the illegal alien advocates, profiteers and apologists are blowing smoke and turning to baseless threats. No job, no money, no benefits...they DO GO HOME and the smart ones do so on their own BEFORE they get caught and forcibly deported.
