ICE Arrests Snyder Woman for Smuggling Illegal Immigrants

A Snyder, Texas woman has been arrested after police found eight illegal immigrants in her car.

KAMC News reports 45-year-old Maria Garcia was taken into custody by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and transported to a Midland federal facility for booking.

The Scurry County Sheriff’s Office says that an officer tried to pull Garcia over after a report that she was smuggling immigrants. Garcia tried to avoid the deputy by pulling into a driveway, but the officer pulled in behind her.

When ICE agents arrived, they searched the vehicle and found the illegal immigrants. Then, ICE officers arrested Garcia and charged her with federal human smuggling.
