This is a small town of less than 9,000 people. Glad to see ICE is busy everywhere! I suspect its part of an even bigger operation though.

A Flat Rock massage parlor was shut down, and police and federal agents arrested five people on allegations that they ran a prostitution ring from inside the shop.

Flat Rock police, the FBI and Immigration and Customs Enforcement raided Best Massage at 26614 Telegraph Rd. and took the five people into custody. The shop had been in operation since 2003.

Lt. Jeffrey Metz of the Flat Rock Police Department said the investigation lasted four months and involved decoys acting as customers. Lt. Metz said police Chief Neal Rossow initiated the investigation that was supported by the FBI, which has been targeted massage parlors that offer more than just massages.

Lt. Metz said that over a period of time the decoys entered the shop in the strip mall north of Vreeland Rd.

"They were offered different acts of prostitution," Lt. Metz said. "The girls would ask them if there was anything else they could do."

Last week, federal and local police raided the business and executed two search warrants. Investigators also simultaneously raided the owner's home in Woodhaven.

From there, police seized cash, jewelry, bank records and a handgun. Also seized were electronic equipment and two cars - a Mercedes and a Toyota. Lt. Metz said immigrations officials were looking into whether any or all five suspects could face deportation to Korea if convicted of the crimes.

The defendants were arrested and lodged in the Flat Rock jail and since have posted bond. They include owners Pau Ming Yin, 45, and Yong Hwa Kim, 50. They were charged with keeping a house of prostitution. Mr. Yin also was charged with a gun violation, and Ms. Kim was charged with one count of prostitution.

Also charged were Chong Cha Chung, 67, who faces one count of keeping a house of prostitution, a felony with a maximum penalty of five years in prison. Kristy Hyoun Kim, 43, was charged with five counts of prostitution, while Kwang Ok Olson, 52, was charged with one count of prostitution.
