Los Angeles, Aug. 19 (EFE).- Consuls of Central America in Los Angeles made a call today to undocumented immigrants so they will prepare the necessary documentation to process legalization in case immigration reform passes.

"According to information from government of the president Barack Obama, we need our people to be ready for an eventual immigration reform", said Hector Hugo Herrera, general consul of El Salvador in Los Angeles.

"What they need is to have the correct information, in the correct time, like a passport or an original birth certificate, besides they need to start saving money because the procedure will cost thousands of dollars", added the diplomat who calculates that in US 2.5 million Salvadorians reside.

In a press conference carried out today in the consulate of Costa Rica in Los Angeles, the consuls of the Costa Rica, Guatemala, Nicaragua and El Salvador, that represent 5.3 million central americans, asked the lacking undocumented to start requesting their families, in their nations of origin, the necessary documents which process takes some time.
