A 16-year-old boy with an AK-47 was among five suspected members of the Artistas Asesinos gang arrested during the weekend in Juárez, officials said.

Mexican federal police made the arrests Friday after a shootout that wounded two of the suspected gang members. Police said the gang went to the Pantera Rosa bar to kidnap a reputed extortionist known as El Pantera belonging to a rival group. El Pantera was killed when he resisted.

Erick Fierro Santos Esteban and Ivan Parra Barrios, both 23, were wounded. Inside the bar, police arrested Roberto Ceballos Martinez, 23, who allegedly had a handgun; Fernando Perez Terrazas, 20, and the 16-year-old boy.
