Executive order for ‘language access plan’ unveiled
By Patrick Kerkstra
INQUIRER STAFF WRITER
The Nutter administration today unveiled an executive order instructing all city departments and agencies to come up with a "language access plan" to make it easier for residents with limited English skills to access city services.
The order specifically mentions "311," the citywide nonemergency call center the Nutter administration has pledged to roll out by the end of the year. The order also says that the city will attempt to recruit more multilingual personnel.
The order was announced at an immigration forum in City Hall.

this is insane, we are the United States not the United Nations! And besides which languages are really going to be rolled out? I bet that they plan to offer a FULL translation in Spanish and a token one in other languages. This is insane and needs to stop. How do we do this, anybody's got names and phone numbers to flood these idiots with calls?
