Nebraska State Sen. Charlie Janssen followed through Thursday on his promise to introduce a statewide illegal immigration measure, similar to one passed last year in Arizona.
Janssen was joined by Nebraska Attorney General Jon Bruning on the first day of bill introduction in the 2011 legislative session.
Arizona's law requires police officers, when enforcing other laws, to question the immigration status of those they suspect are in the country illegally.
Critics say the Arizona law encourages racial profiling. A federal judge blocked sections of the law in July, including provisions calling for police to check a person's immigration status while enforcing other laws and requiring immigrants to prove they are in the United States legally.

This is one of the more important states in passing a bill like this believe it or not. Nebraska has been having problems in some of their meat packing towns being taken over by illegals. I expect the meat packing industry to start mouthing off about this.

If the meatpacking plants mouthoff, have Jenssen file another bill strapping/ensuring all meatpacking plants are responsible and pay for housing, educational, utilities, medical, food, transportation costs for all illegals and their family members they hire -- then let's see the meatpacking plants mouth off more!!!! I'm sure once that bill is filed and passed by the Nebraska legislature, you'd be sure you'd hear no more from the meatpacking plants!!!!!!!

It's not just the meat packing plants hiring illegals. There are a lot of other businesses hiring them too. Once the illegals tire of meatpacking they move on to other places.
