Police Look For Five Kidnapped Immigrants

Four armed men kicked in the front door of a house in Houston overnight and kidnapped six illegal immigrants at gunpoint, including a 6-month-old girl, authorities said Monday.

One woman was freed, but the other five were still missing Monday.

A Harris County Sheriff’s Department spokesman says the owner of the house is related to the infant's parents.

Sgt. James Parker says the family and another couple were staying at the house Sunday night when the owner returned from the grocery store to find the front door kicked in.

Parker says the freed woman told deputies why she thought she'd been released, but he declined to reveal what she said.

He says no clear motive is known.

Parker describes the missing as the 6-month-old, who was last seen wearing a white jumper; her parents, who are between ages 30 and 40; and another couple in their 40s. All are Hispanic.

They were taken in a white van with a blue stripe and paper license tags.
