FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Authorities plan to repatriate two stowaways from the Dominican Republic who were found on a ship at Port Everglades on Wednesday.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials said they received a report of possible stowaways aboard the MV Crowley cargo ship, which transports tractor-trailers.

The ship came from the Dominican Republic and stopped in Haiti on its way to Fort Lauderdale.

When the ship arrived, officials from Customs and Border Protection, the Broward Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Coast Guard set up a perimeter and searched the tractor-trailers from the ship.

The officers found two men from the Dominican Republic and took them into custody.

According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the men were put back onto the ship, which will take them back to the Dominican Republic to be repatriated.
