Meth Ring Busted

September 6, 2007--The U.S. Attorney's office says it's cracked a major meth ring, that was supplying central Iowa with several pounds of Meth each week. The one-year investigation resulted in indictments against 22 people, 17 of them illegal aliens from Mexico.

The investigation included a wire tap, undercover surveillance, and searches of several Des Moines homes. The U.S. Attorney's office says it recovered more than $500,000 in cash, 20-pounds of meth, and weapons. Authorities are still searching for five of the people indicted.
