Schwarzenegger May Order Deep Spending Cuts

Schwarzenegger May Order Deep Spending Cuts

SACRAMENTO -- Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has directed state agencies to prepare for possible deep spending cuts.

He has ordered state department heads to draft plans for a 10 percent across-the-board reduction. If enacted, it would be the biggest round of budget cuts since Schwarzenegger took office in 2003.

The move comes as the governor has begun putting together his January budget proposal. The state already faces a projected $6 billion deficit next year. His administration has warned for months that the continued housing slump and credit crunch were cutting into state revenues.

But Schwarzenegger's order indicates the state's fiscal outlook may be even worse than predicted.

He just doesn't get it. I live in California and this state is nothing more than a give away state. I would imagine that there are more illegals in this state than all of the other states put together.

This is indeed a give away state, unless you have a social security number and are a US citizen. Then they want every type of paperwork they can think of and put you on a list for 2 years.

I read an article the other day that a lukemia victim was denied CA state disibility. This just burns me up. CASDI is taken out of our payroll checks and they still denied her. Don't figure.

He is the reason that I moved out of CA to AZ

I did not vote for the man for I voted for the only one who could have turned the State around and he did not get the Job because he was to HONEST. And the State of AZ take better care of me than the VA hospital system does in this state or in California.

The other day I had to go to Stockton for business. Passing by the Welfare office my "want to see for myself attitude got the better of me" so I dropped in. There were two huge waiting rooms with people setting around waiting for their numbers to come up on these television screens. I set down and observed. I would say 99% of the people were Hispanic with all their anchor babies. A little girl next to me looked at me and said Spanol, I said no that I was American and asked her if she habla English, she shook her head no. Meanwhile more and more Mexican men were gathering next to me clutching birth certificates in their hands speaking loudly to each other in Spanish, there was a party attitude. I finally got up and told them to take my place that they were giving me a headache and walked out.

I feel so sorry for any American Californian's that falling on hard times would have to endure that.

And now I know from what I saw for myself where California's money is going.

It could also be more Americans in California are figuring out ways to pay less tax since they know it does not go to benefit them.
