County Gets Grant To Identify Jailed Illegal Aliens

GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. -- Greenville County is participating in a volunteer program to identify illegal aliens who are currently incarcerated, and a federal grant will help defray the cost of doing so.
The Federal government awarded Greenville County $77,183 for costs associated with the county’s voluntary participation in the State Criminal Alien Assistance Program.
The award from the U.S. Department of Justice is a reimbursement for some salary cost incurred by Detention Center staff that has taken the time to do the “extra stepâ€
