There are some very good points in this article but any conclusion based on partial truths, mischaracterizations or overt lies will not contribute to a lasting solution. The above section quoted is a flat out baldfaced lie and therefore discredits an otherwise pretty decent article that is starting to come close to "getting it." I don't know where the author got this piece of misinformation from - I would actually like to address the source and tell them the truth.

I have owned several homes in several neighborhoods and in recent decades the pressure is always to hire citizen workers from landscaping to roofers or pool refinishers. Homeowners want to see their neighbors hiring citizens. We want to give the jobs to citizens and resent it when contractors lie to us and then our property is flooded with illegals who will steal anything left out or even a drinking cup or silverware - when they beg you for a drink or a fork to eat their lunch and then they keep it - just out of hostility. I know plenty of people willing to do roofing or work on the street but they are edged out by the illegals and even the legals who practice racism in who they will tolerate working alongside them to the point of murder.

Furthermore our kids cannot even get starter jobs in fast food joints because the whole crew is non-English speaking of questionable status. They also will not tolerate a legal born in the US person of Mexican descent working alongside them so this author must not get out much.
