NM: Misinformed Panicky Priest says Police Targeting IA's
Police targeting illegal immigrants, priest says
A New Mexico Catholic priest says Roswell Police are causing fear in his parish by targeting illegal immigrants.
Father Juan Montoya claims police are going after illegal immigrants non-stop. He says many of the illegal immigrants that go to his church are afraid to attend mass.
The Roswell police chief says that's nonsense.
"This is one of those things that gets spread around the community and is just full of ignorance. It's uninformed people talking and causing panic," said Chief Robert H. Smith.
Smith says his officers only arrest illegal immigrants if they commit a crime. He says the feds will then look into immigration violations.

Oh but okay for illegal immigrants to cause fear in our communities right?
We are NOT a nation of immigrants!

Illegals should be afraid, since it seems their fear comes basically from knowing they have already broken the law. And, priest, why don't you offer every person who is afraid sanctuary in the church and worry about housing and feeding thousands? Just don't gripe about enforcing our laws, and if you don't agree with laws here, go somewhere in the world where laws concerning illegals are just totally ignored for economic and "humanitarian" purposes. Good luck.

How did we get to the point that enforcing our laws was a bad thing?
And how did we get to the point that police departments apologize and deny they are enforcing laws?

If they really are targeting illegal aliens, my response is "so what?"
I often equate illegal aliens to people who sneak into an amusement park. Everyone else had to pay their $50.00 and wait in line to get in. Apparently some feel entitled to bypass the line, skip the entry fee, and then expect free soda and popcorn! If the park's security guards/police are targeting those who hopped the fence, then I'm happy about it.
I love it when people who cut in line get busted.
