    Police have to Taser man to stop assault

    CORPUS CHRISTI — Corpus Christi police arrested a 27-year-old undocumented immigrant after a fight on the 2600 block of Baldwin Blvd early Sunday, according to a police report.

    Officers were across the street from the club when they saw a fight break out at 1:56 a.m. in the parking lot. According to a police report, the fight spilled into the street where a 29-year-old man fell to the ground and the undocumented immigrant continued hitting the man with a rock. Officers ordered the man to stop twice, but he continued to pummel the man on the ground.

    An officer deployed his Taser on Estaban Lagunes and he stopped his assault.

    The other man was transported to Christus Spohn Hospital Memorial with non life-threatening injuries.

    Lagunes was arrested and taken to Nueces County jail for aggravated assault ($20,000 bond) and possession of a controlled substance ($1,500 bond). He is being held on a immigration detainer for Border Patrol agents.

    I bet the guy he was pounding was an illegal too!
