WASHINGTON, Sept 02, 2008 /PRNewswire-USNewswire via COMTEX/ -- The FAIR Congressional Task Force (FCTF) is pleased to announce that the September 10 broadcast of CNN's Lou Dobbs Tonight program will originate from the site of the annual Hold Their Feet to the Fire event. In addition to the Lou Dobbs Tonight program, Hold Their Feet to the Fire 2008 will include 42 talk radio hosts from across the United States who will be coming to Washington, D.C. to dedicate their programs to discussion of immigration reform.
Hold Their Feet to the Fire is an annual event that brings together talk radio hosts to discuss the important issue of immigration reform with listeners around the country. The 2008 event is expected to be the largest to date. Talk radio has played a powerful role in providing a voice to the American public in this ongoing national debate about immigration policy.
"We are honored and delighted by the addition of CNN's Lou Dobbs Tonight to the Hold Their Feet to the Fire line-up," commented Dan Stein, president of the FCTF. "Few people have had the impact on the immigration debate that Lou Dobbs has had. Night in and night out, Dobbs has been the champion of the embattled middle class, explaining how the immigration policies formulated and executed in Washington consistently undermine the interests of ordinary Americans.
"Having someone at Hold Their Feet to the Fire of Dobbs' prominence will add to the visibility and stature of an event that has already had an enormous impact on the national debate about immigration policy," continued Stein. "The American people want the next Administration and Congress to make immigration reform -- true reform that places the interests of the American people first -- a top priority. With the participation of the Lou Dobbs Tonight program to Hold Their Feet to the Fire 2008, that message is certain to reach the widest possible audience."
