SPRINGDALE, Ark. -- About 50 people held a rally in a park in Springdale on Sunday afternoon in favor of tighter enforcement of immigration laws.

Jody Franks, of Alma, said the rally was organized by Patriots On Watch, an organization started about two months ago. He said the Springdale event was only the second time the group has met.

In recent weeks, Congress has debated changes to immigration law, including plans to grant legal status to people who entered the country illegally. But the government hasn't reached a decision.

Carolyn Graham, of Springdale, who attended the rally, said laws shouldn't change to accommodate illegal immigrants. She says she doesn't blame immigrants for coming, but blames the U.S. government for not enforcing existing laws.

Rallies in favor of granting legal status to illegal immigrants attracted thousands of people in recent weeks in Fort Smith, Little Rock and Springdale.
