Illegal immigrants should go home
Aug 18 2007

The Aug. 13 headline, "We can't all hate each other" and the accompanying article were so inappropriate that they require a response.

The article reflected biased opinion and incorrect interpretation of facts. There is no "hate," just a demand that the laws be obeyed.

The person in the photograph that displayed the sign "ICE you are destroying the American Dream" is the one that requires sensitivity training. Her feelings must not be interpreted as if she's right on the law.

The people who entered the United States without the proper documentation are here illegally and ICE is doing its job as mandated by the laws of this great land. Therefore, the illegals have a choice, either find a way back to where they came from or face the consequences without any hope of amnesty.

Reporting the idiotic message of Angel Curillo makes The News-Times look as ignorant as him. If you follow his line of thinking, anyone, anywhere, could claim to be an Earth-being and do whatever he or she wished.

Just imagine a world where all countries on Earth did not have borders and laws. What laws would Mr. Curillo follow when facing an injustice? My guess is that he'll invent his own and call them God's laws.

As far as the support offered to the illegals by the "organized churches" in town, I wonder aloud: Are you doing this to support (and not your desire to subjugate) the less fortunate and, as reported, assure that they are treated with respect?

Why not first ask the illegals to treat us with the respect we deserve by obeying the law and returning to their homeland before their visa expires? That's what a law-abiding and respectful person would do.
