    New Kansas City immigration court operating

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - A new federal immigration court in Kansas City is trying to plow through nearly 2,300 cases that would have been handled in Chicago in the past.

    One judge is hearing cases and another is scheduled to join him next month. The court has jurisdiction over all of Kansas and Missouri, except for St. Louis. That area is being served by a court in Louisiana until it becomes part of the Kansas City jurisdiction in August.

    The Kansas City court is expected to help judges to decide more quickly whether an illegal immigrant should be deported. Attorneys for those immigrants, though, say speed isn't a good thing for their clients because the backlog often meant removal cases took years to process.

    How hard can it be to decide if someone is here illegally...if they don't have papers they are illegal...deport them, sounds easy to me, just what is their problem?
