We kept this one low on the horizon because we wanted to get the choice parking spots in front of the fort entrance. I was fearful that knowing of our plans, the parking would have been purposely blocked or taken. Their is a mexican patriot committe that holds this event every year to issue the new Mexican flag to the fort, and they have some oompah music playing for a few hours too. Interesting things happened, but for the most part, everyone held their tongues. Univision stopped by and ADesperateCitizen gave a full interview....in Spanish. Channel 10 came by, but did not take interest in us.
This was the first tour of duty for the new sign. How do you like it? Think this will get the word out?
I was up until 2:30 am lettering it, so I have to be brief for now. Maybe Dawes, ADesperateCitizens, CercasHacenBuenosVecinos, or Mushroom will come on later for more on the event.
I have videos, but I need to analyze a few things on their first. The Park service would not allow us to videotape the ceremonies inside. they also didn't want to be videotaped themselves. This is very mysterious stuff....the exchange between them, myself, and some blonde woman who seemed to give special direction to the park ranger, but wouldn't speak to us. Basically, I was banned from the inside, although I did not ask to go in without the videocam.
